LaGrange Tournament: Game Two

This afternoon the Warriors went up against an all 8th grade team (who were all taller than our team as well!).  But success is not always measured by whether or not you win or lose.  Walther gave it a great effort and made Notre Dame of Clarendon Hills work HARD for their win.  By the end of the game, we had slown them down considerably.  Well done!
Our next game is Sunday at 2:15 p.m.
We will be playing for 3rd place.
Go Warriors!

First quarter score.

2nd quarter score...ouch!

3rd quarter score.

Final score.

It's of interest to note that Clarendon Hills made a total of 23 points by half time and we only had 10, but during the second half, we kept them to gaining only 15 points and we increased ours by 14.  We had a tough second quarter, but otherwise did a good job of limiting their baskets as time went on and increasing our own.

Thanks to Coach Goffron and Coach Mello!

See you Sunday at 2:15!!!!!!!
(Team, please be there by 1:45.)

Tournament Time

Today was the first game in the tournament at LaGrange.  We played Grace Lutheran School of Chicago.  It was a fun game to watch right from the beginning.  The team pulled off a win and are now on their way to working on their next win during the 2nd game on Saturday at 1:40.  Go Warriors!

Let the game begin.
The first basket.

Third Quarter Score.

Final Score!!!!

Well done, Warriors!

Let's cheer them on at the next tournament game,
Saturday, at 1:40 p.m.

(I've learned that longer video clips cannot be put onto the site (or at least I haven't figured out how to do it), so some of the better video clips are still on my camera and not here (like Andrew's fantastic basket!).  I'll keep them shorter for the next game so I can upload more to the site.  CG)

Warriors vs. St. Paul's, Melrose Park

Good news, bad news.  The good news is that the photographer came prepared with a back-up camera so we got photos and videos of this game!  We also had a good night with the concessions.  The bad news?  Oh, yeah.  We lost. Sad smile  But the warriors lived up to their name and put forth a good effort.  Let's just call it good practice for the upcoming tournament this weekend.  Open-mouth smile
Enjoy the pics & videos.

Half-time score.

End of 3rd quarter.

Final score.
(There are still more videos to come...it's taking me longer than normal to get them uploaded.
Be sure to check back later.)

Let's everyone make it to LaGrange this Thursday and over the weekend to cheer on our Warriors.
Go Warriors!!!

First Game of the Year: Itasca

It was the first game of 2011 and it took us longer than normal to warm up and get back in the groove.  Even the camera person couldn't come through (the camera died on me, again--so sorry!).
But it ended with an exciting 4th quarter when the Warriors came through with renewed agression and energy and brought their score of only 6 points at the end of the 3rd quarter to a total of 21 by the end of the 4th!  If only every quarter had been played that way!  However, it wasn't quite enough to change the outcome.  The final score was 26:21 in favor of Itasca.  Here are just a few pictures from tonight's game. (Sorry again, had problems with the quality too--will use a different camera next time.)
